Undergraduate Scholarships open to Chemistry Students

Summer Vacation Scholarships

Summer vacation scholarhips are jointly funded by the School of Chemistry and the Faculty of Science. A few of the projects available to second and third year students over the 2007-2008 summer include:

  • Nanoparticle Electrochemistry
  • Thinking molecules: toward molecular computation devices
  • Molecular Scaffolds

A full list of projects and supervisors is available as a PDF document. Interested students should contact download the application form, complete the form and submit it to Mr Ken McGuffin (k.mcguffin@unsw.edu.au, Dalton 106, phone 9385 4611). Closing date for applications is 31 October, 2007.

General Information

Up to date information about all undergraduate scholarships (other than Summer Vacation Scholarships) offered to students in the Faculty of Science can be found on the UNSW web site. An overview of scholarships relevant to Chemistry students is given below. Please consult the UNSW web site for application procedures and closing dates. The Scholarships section of the UNSW web site also has information about many non-discipline-specific scholarships for future students and current students. If you are looking for a scholarship be sure to look at these web pages because there are a number of general scholarships open to students from all disciplines for which you may be eligible to apply.

Scholarships for Chemistry Students

There are several named scholarships especially for Chemistry undergraduate students.

  • The John Ragnar Anderson Memorial Scholarships
  • The E. and F.J. Cowper Scholarship
  • The Dermott O'Neill Scholarship

Full details are available on the Science Faculty section of the scholarships pages on the UNSW web site. In addition to these named scholarships there are Faculty of Science Scholarships which Chemistry students are encouraged to apply for.
