Chemistry Major
The general rule for the major is 42 units of credit in Chemistry courses at level II and level III, with at least 18 units of credit at level III. Full details are listed here.
Double Majors
Chemistry can be combined with a major in a closely related Science. This requires combining appropriate courses from each major in order to satisfy the requirements of each. Course combinations for chemistry with Materials Science, Biochemistry and Geochemistry are listed here. Advice on other options can be obtained from the Student Advisor in Chemistry (School Academic Office, Room 105, Dalton building; Tel. (02) 9385 4666, Fax. (02) 9385 6141, e-mail: chemistry@unsw.edu.au).
Chemistry Minor
The general rule for a minor is 24 units of credit in Chemistry courses at level II or level II. Courses can be chosen so as to provide either a broad overview of Chemistry or a specialisation in a particular aspect of Chemistry. Some suggested combinations are listed here.

Transferring between Science and Advanced Science
Students with higher than a credit average may apply to transfer from Science to Advanced Science at the end of first year. Transfer is also possible at the end of second year, but this may require extra courses being taken. An internal transfer form must be completed by the end of November for transfer the following year. Chemistry students wishing to transfer should consult the Student Centre in Dalton room 105 for individual advice.
