UNSW Chemical Society | |
|
The UNSW Chemical Society is one of the oldest societies in Australia since it continued directly on from Sydney Technical College Chemical society. Regular meetings are held during the teaching year at which invited speakers give talks on a wide range of topics of general chemical interest. In addition, a number of bequests enable the Society to invite distinguished researchers from abroad to give a series of lectures and to have discussions with staff and students. At least one such series is given each year and previous lecturers have included Nobel Prize winners. Membership is open to all staff and students in the School of Chemistry. Generously, in 2004 the School paid the membership fees of all graduate students and undergraduate chemistry majors. All members are encouraged to join the committee and help in organising the programme. Forms (PDF) for downloading: Membership Application, Membership Renewal. More details on particular activities of the Society can be found on the linked pages below.
