Ph.D. Students
Greg O’Donnell, Ph.D. student (part time) - 2002
Greg is working on various aspects of metrology.
Leila Hejazi, Ph.D. student - 2005
Born in 1977, M.S. from Tarbiat Modares University; married with one child.
Address: Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Facility, School of Medicine, UNSW
Tel: +61 2 9385 1613
Fax: +61 2 9385 6141
E-mail: Leila@student.unsw.edu.au
Leila is under joint supervision of Prof Hibbert from the School of Chemistry and Assoc. Prof. Guilhaus from the Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Facility, (part of the UNSW Analytical Centre). Her Ph.D. project is to investigate the compatibility of hard and soft ionization techniques in mass spectrometry for structural elucidation. She is particularly interested in the analysis of fatty acids and diesel oils by GC-MS which involves various instrumental and chemometrics research.

Surachet Phadungdhitidhada, Practicum student - 2008
B.Sc. Physics (Honours), Chiang Mai University,
Thailand (2002).
Ph.D. Student In Physics, Chiang Mai University, Thailand
(Present).
Address: Room 121 Dalton Building, School of Chemistry, UNSW
Surachet is developing array-based tin
oxide gas sensors for e-nose applications. The e-nose is a
powerful gas detector. The
development of sensors responding to many gases differently
is still a challenge to researchers while pattern recognition is also important. I am spending a time in School of
Chemistry at UNSW to learn about data analysis techniques
and using a ten-sensor e-nose to distinguish common gases and
some toxic gases in the environment such as ethanol, hydrogen,
hydrogen sulfide, etc.
