The research of the Chemometrics And Metrology Group involves:

1. Metrology in Chemistry

Metrology in chemistry (MIC) is a new and expanding subject which focuses on how to obtain valid analytical measurement results.

2. Chemometrics

Chemometrics is the application of mathematics and statistics in chemistry and related disciplines. Recently we are mostly involved with statistical inference and two- and multi-way data analysis.

2.1. Statistical inference

Statistical inference allows us to make statements on the probability of finding data given an hypothesis (the so-called frequentists approach) or the probability of an hypothesis given the data (Bayesian approach).

2.2. Multi-way Analysis

Multi-way analysis allows us to model data with more than two dimensions. This branch of chemometrics has its own unique mathematics and linear algebra characteristics and is very useful in the analysis of high order data from modern instruments. For more details see Diako Ebrahimi's web page.
