Program 5648 [coursework 36 UC]Graduate Diploma in Chemical Analysis and Laboratory ManagementSee also Grad. Cert. and M.Sci.Tech. in Chemical Analysis and Laboratory Management. DescriptionThis program offers training in advanced chemical analysis techniques and associated management issues. It allows students to select from a series of modules covering all aspects of modern chemical analysis, safety and occupational health issues, and people management. The program will normally be completed within one year on a full time basis, or over two years part time. It is particularly suited to new graduates or laboratory chemists and managers who wish to upgrade their qualifications in and knowledge of chemical analysis and related topics. This is the second stage in a fully articulated program of Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Science and Technology in Chemical Analysis and Laboratory Management. The GradDip is a 36 UC program which represents three-quarters of a standard full-time load for 1 year or a standard part-time load for 1.5 years. Admission CriteriaBSc degree with a major in Chemistry or equivalent qualification. Students who are enrolled in a GradCert Chemical Analysis
and Laboratory Management who have completed 24 UoC will be able to apply
to the Head of School for advanced standing in the GradDip in Chemical Analysis
and Laboratory Management. Advanced standing for students who wish to transfer
to a GradDip Chemical Analysis and Laboratory Management will be considered
on a case by case basis. Students who have taken out a GradCert
Chemical Analysis and Laboratory Management and who wish to enrol in the
GradDip will normally be granted 18 UoC advanced standing in the GradDip
Chemical Analysis and Laboratory Management program. Course RequirementsCandidates are required to complete a total of 36 units of credit selected from the following offerings with at least 6 units of credit being selected from the management courses and at least 6 units of credit from the analysis courses:
