OverviewThe following research and coursework programs lead to higher degrees in Chemistry at UNSW. Click on the links in the individual programs to see a more detailed description. Coursework Programs
These industry orientated programs offer training in the latest chemical analysis techniques and associated management areas. They allow students to select from a range of courses covering all aspects of modern chemical analysis, safety and occupational health, as well as human resource management. They are particularly suited to new graduates or laboratory chemists and managers who wish to upgrade their qualifications. These are fully articulated programs so it is possible to progress from Graduate Certificate to Graduate Diploma and Master of Science and Technology. The duration of the programs depends on the load taken where 48 UC is regarded as a standard 1-year full-time load. The courses are timetabled for maximum convenience for students in full-time employment. Click on the individual program links above for more detailed information such as entry requirements, advanced standing. Click here for detailed course descriptions. Graduate Diploma in Chemistry (Research) The Graduate Diploma (Research) in Chemistry offers an advanced training program for graduates who wish to update their knowledge of research chemistry and/or satisfy requirements for admission to a research degree in chemistry. This Grad Dip program will normally be completed in one year on a full-time basis, or two years part-time. It includes two 'Research Project' courses consisting of research project work totalling 24 UC. The remainder consists of postgraduate level courses.
