How to Apply for Admission

Postgraduate Coursework Degrees

All applicants (both local and international) for postgraduate coursework degrees should visit the How to Apply exit sign page on the main UNSW web site to learn about the application process. Links to the online application web site and to forms for applications are available from that site.

Postgraduate Research Degrees

The application process for postgraduate research degrees, for both local and international students, is described in detail on the Graduate Research School website exit sign.

If your application is for a research degree (Ph.D. or M.Sc.) you will need to indicate a research area and write a brief proposal of the type of project that you are interested in doing. Though not essential, it is helpful if you identify a supervisor whose interests are close to yours and make contact prior to finalising your application. You can find a complete list of supervisors, groups and their research interests in the research area of this site.

International students

Any prospective international student should visit the UNSW International website exit sign to obtain important information about studying at UNSW and living in Sydney.

(Note: links marked with an exit sign sign lead out of the main Chemistry web site. Use the 'back' button or history menu in your browser to return to the School of Chemistry web site).
