RACI NEW SOUTH WALES BRANCH

ORGANIC CHEMISTRY GROUP

The Organic Chemistry group has active members from the key organic chemistry research laboratories in NSW. These include ANSTO (Biomedicine and Health Program), CSIRO (Food Processing, North Ryde), Peptide Technology and the local and regional universities in Sydney. The Organic Chemistry group holds an annual one-day symposium which normally attracts 80-100 people from Sydney, Canberra, and Wollongong regions. This symposium gives post-graduate students and post-doctoral fellows the opportunity to present their research work through short oral presentations. Plenary lecturers are given by one or more distinguished invited speakers.

As a member of the Organic Chemistry group you will have the opportunity, during the various group meetings, to meet with chemists from the wider organic chemistry community of NSW. These contacts may be both educational and also beneficial to your career as an organic chemist.
