A PROFILE - PAT RODGERS
Pat Rodgers has a B.Sc in Industrial Chemistry from the University of NSW and is a Chartered Chemist and a Fellow of The Royal Australian Chemical Institute (FRACI) and a Chartered Chemist He is active Member of the NSW Brance of the RACI and is the 'Chair' of the Consulting Group.
He now runs his own consulting business, P J Rodgers Consulting Pty Ltd, which offers INDEPENDENT advice in Corrosion Engineering, Water Treatment and Biological Sampling/Monitoring. Clients include :

Pat entered the water treatment business in 1972 when he joined Applied Chemicals Pty Ltd, as the Regional Manager for NSW and Queensland and later was promoted to National Manager of the Division. He also worked overseas for Applied Chemicals and played a principal role in the establishing of the companies water treatment businesses in South East Asia and the United Kingdom.
In 1990, following the sale of the Water Treatment Division, by Applied Chemicals, he was contracted for 3 years by the ""multi-national"" WRGrace Corporation, to establish the Grace Dearborn Water Treatment Division in Australia and in that capacity joined Grace Dearborn as the General Manager for Australia. While with Grace Dearborn he had the opportunity to make several visits the USA, Europe and the UK to learn ""state of the art"" product technology from the overseas operations.
His 28 years in water treatment have been ""hands on"" management as Pat has always been directly involved in the technical aspect of the business. In addition he has run numerous training courses in water treatment, both in Australia and overseas.
In his early career he worked for 16 years in the surface coating industry, involved in Technical Service and including corrosion engineering. For four of those years he was based in England and he spent another year on secondment in the USA, to Hercules Inc.
TAFE (NSW) recognised Pat's expertise and experience in water treatment and corrosion engineering and in 1995 commissioned him to write a draft Teaching Manual on the subject. Additionally, he was involved directly in the editing of the "Victorian Code of Practice" Manual which was published by AIRAH.
